My clinical experience includes at least some work in each of these areas.
I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients; being a part of and witnessing their symptom improvement & personal growth has been amazing!
Self-care is essential to a full and healthy life, and sometimes the best way to care for ourselves includes reaching out for help. If you are wondering how to simply live more effectively, how to have better relationships, or how to manage the hurts of the past, I would love to help you.
A client-centered approach means I work together with my clients to identify and prioritize specific needs and goals, ensuring that they feel heard and supported throughout their counseling journey. Therapy is not "one size fits most." The story of your experience is uniquely yours, and through seeking to hear & understand, to know you better, I want to empower you to shape that story, for the better, moving forward.
Strengths-based therapy focuses on identifying & building your existing strengths and resources to help you navigate life's challenges. I use this counseling approach (based primarily on positive psychology) to enhance your ability to recognize strengths both in yourself and in others, and as a catalyst for improvement in your day-to-day life. This approach provides a strong foundation for your success. Reach out if you have questions about additional specific counseling approaches or techniques.

As an active member of the SC Counselor's Association (SCCA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), Chi Sigma Iota International (CSI), American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), I am committed to the professional and ethical standards of these organizations and the field.
I grew up right here in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The gorgeous Lowcountry scenery never ceases to spoil me.
I attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!), graduated in 1997 with degree in Biological Sciences, and worked in developmental cardiovascular research at MUSC for several years during and after college.
My career shifted into full-time youth ministry at St. Michael's Church in downtown Charleston, where I enjoyed working with middle and high school students, their parents, and college interns for four years.
Pursuing licensed professional counseling began during those years in youth ministry through a graduate class at the Citadel. It was also during that time I met and married my wonderful husband.
Fast forward about 20 years to when the widespread decline in mental health due to the Covid-19 pandemic compelled me to continue pursuing my counseling degree. After countless middle age-versus-technology battles, I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
The goal of my professional practice, RBC Counseling Services, LLC, is to be a safe haven for clients' growth and empowerment. Additionally I hope to be a resource for whole health improvement for our community.
